Import an existing website by URL

Paste a live website address and choose to clone it exactly, rebuild it as an editable project, or get an intelligence report.

Updated 2026-07-16

The Website URL tab on /studio accepts any live site address and offers three different actions, depending on what you want out of it.

02Faithful HTML Clone

Creates a verbatim, self-contained mirror of the site — the pages exactly as they are, with nothing invented or rewritten. The result is downloadable as a ZIP. Use this when you need an exact copy, for example as a backup or a starting archive before a redesign.

03Crawl & Rebuild (Migrate)

Crawls the site across its pages (staying on the same domain) and transforms what it finds into a fully editable CurateOne project. Your existing content, pages, and images come along, and from there you can restyle, edit with the copilot, and publish like any other project.

04Scan & Audit (Discover)

Produces a website intelligence report without changing anything: what framework or CMS the site runs on, how it scores on SEO and accessibility, and how ready it is to migrate. Handy for sizing up a site before committing to a rebuild.

05Run an import

  1. Open /studio and select the Website URL tab.
  2. Paste the address of the live site.
  3. Pick one of the three actions: Faithful HTML Clone, Crawl & Rebuild, or Scan & Audit.
  4. For a rebuild, review and approve the Business Discovery Blueprint before generation runs.
TipThe crawl stays on the same domain as the URL you paste — pages hosted elsewhere (a separate booking domain, for example) aren’t followed.
